                       Let’s Think

The weight of an object can change. It depends on the force of gravity. The
force of gravity is different on each of the planets, because the mass of

each planet is different. On different planets, your weight would change but
your mass would be the same.

A person with a mass of 35 kg on Earth still has a mass of 35 kg on Jupiter

and on Mars. But the same person weighs more on Jupiter and less on
                    Mars.

Look at the picture. Why does the weight of the person change on the

                    different planets? Explain your answer.

                    Think!

What happens if you drop the
                    same object from the same
                    height on each planet?

                    Why?

Now complete the rest of the
                    worksheet in the Workbook.

                       Let’s Reflect

1 Why is the gravitational pull different on different planets?

2 Does the difference in gravitational pull affect the mass and the weight of
                       an object?

                                                                                                                 95
