                Moon is waning.

Once every month the Moon is dark and we cannot see it. This

phase is called a new moon.

After this the Moon looks thicker every night. We say the Moon

                is waxing.

Then we have a full moon again. And the phases start again.

1 Can you name two phases of the Moon?

2 Draw a picture to show the shape of each phase you

                    named.
