A substance that does not dissolve may fall to the bottom of the container or
                 may make the water opaque.























                 It may also form a layer at the top of the liquid.
























                 If a solid makes the liquid opaque, it means you have made a suspension.
                 This is where the solid particles are more spread out, but they have not broken
                 down into small enough pieces to dissolve.


                 You can dissolve a solid in a liquid more quickly by:
                 • stirring (mixing) the liquid

                 • increasing the temperature of the liquid
                 • reducing the size of the particles that you start with.
