Magnetic fields can also make an electric current.
If a magnet goes around a wire very quickly, the magnetic field makes the

electrons move inside the wire. This movement makes electricity and is very
important in renewable energy devices, like wind turbines.

                       Let’s Talk

To show the relationship between electricity and
magnetism, you can make a magnet using

                    electricity.
Make an electromagnet like the one in the picture
                    and explain how it works.

Discuss the different forces acting on your
                    electromagnet. 1.5V

Now complete the worksheet in the Workbook.

                       Let’s Reflect

                    1 What is electromagnetism?
2 Name three things that use electromagnetic forces.
