In the day we have light from the Sun. This is called daytime.
At night we do not have any light from the Sun. This is called
night-time.
The daytime starts at sunrise. This is when we first see the
Sun. The daytime ends at sunset. This is when night starts.
The hours of daytime are not the same all of the time. They
are different in different seasons. The changes have the same
pattern every year. So we know at what time sunrise and
sunset will be each day.
In summer, sunrise is earlier than in winter. In summer, sunset
is later than in winter. So we have longer daytimes in summer.
