                       Let’s Learn

When an object changes position over time, we say that it has motion.

An object is stationary (at rest) if its position does not change compared to
what is around it. This car is stationary.

An object is in motion if its position changes compared to what is around it.

Imagine you are standing on a platform when a train goes past.

How do you know the train is moving?

To someone standing on the platform, the train is moving from left to right.
Therefore, everything inside the train is also moving from left to right.
