                 Star – A very big ball of gas on fire. The Sun is our nearest star.

                 Summer – A season when daytimes are longer and the weather

                 is warmer.


                 Sun – A big star in the centre of the Solar System. The Sun gives
                 us light.


                 Sunrise – The time in the morning when we first see the Sun in
                 the sky.


                 Sunset – The time in the evening when we cannot see the Sun

                 any more.

                 Telescope – Something that helps us see objects that are far

                 away in the sky.

                 Temperature – How hot or cold something is.


                 Waning – When the Moon looks smaller each night.

                 Waxing – When the Moon looks bigger each night.


                 Winter – A season when daytimes are shorter and the weather
                 is colder.


                 Year – The time it takes for the Earth to orbit the Sun.

                 A year is 365 days.
