                Axis – A line through the Earth. It goes from the North Pole to the

                South Pole.

                Day – The time it takes for Earth to go round on its axis. A day is

                24 hours.

                Daylight – The light we get from the Sun in the daytime.


                Daytime – The time in the day when it is light, not dark.

                Earth – A planet in the Solar System. We live on Earth.


                Evidence – Information that helps you decide if something is true.

                Full moon – A phase of the Moon when it looks like a full circle.


                Moon – A satellite of the Earth. It orbits the Earth every 28 days.

                New moon – A phase of the Moon when it is dark and we

                cannot see it.

                Night – The time when our side of Earth is not facing the Sun.


                Orbit – To move around another object, like a planet.

                Phases of the Moon – The different shapes of the Moon we see

                from Earth.


                Planet – A very big object made of gas or rock that orbits the Sun.

                Prediction – What you think will happen.

                Rotate – Go around in a circle.


                Satellite – An object that orbits a planet.

                Season – A part of the year with its own kind of weather.


                Sky – It is above the ground. We see clouds and the Sun in the sky.

                Solar – An adjective from Sun.


                Solar System – The Sun and the planets that orbit the Sun.
